Year 6 Using Punctuation to Mark Boundaries

Teacher Specific Information

This Year 6 Using Punctuation to Mark Boundaries IWB Activity includes five questions designed to check pupils’ understanding of using semi-colons, dashes and colons to separate multi-clause sentences. Pupils will identify correctly punctuated sentences, determine whether a sentence has been punctuated correctly, select the sentence that is missing a semi-colon, identify incorrectly punctuated sentences, and select a word in a sentence that would follow a colon.

This activity is linked to the Classroom Secrets Year 6 GPS scheme of work.
Questions in this activity are based on the content in Spring Block 4 Steps 4 and 5 on the Classroom Secrets website, where you can find more resources.
