Year 6 Formal and Informal Speech and Writing

Teacher Specific Information

This Year 6 Formal and Informal Speech and Writing activity checks pupils’ understanding of formal and informal vocabulary and language in speech and writing. Children will identify sentences written in the subjunctive form, add appropriate verbs to complete subjunctive sentences, determine whether a sentence with a question tag makes sense, select sentences that use question tags correctly, and complete sentences with appropriate question tags.

This activity is linked to the Classroom Secrets Year 6 GPS scheme of work.
Questions in this activity are based on the content in Spring Block 3 Steps 2 and 3 on the Classroom Secrets website, where you can find more resources.
