Teacher Specific Information
Use this Year 5 Antonym Matching Activity 5 to help your pupils expand their vocabulary. They are presented with a selection of cards that need to be clicked and turned over. The position of each card needs to be memorised in order to create matching pairs. Most of the words used are taken from the Year 5/6 Spelling List.
Whilst we know the terminology and objectives for ‘synonyms’ and ‘antonyms’ are not introduced until Year 6, we are aware that teachers in other year groups also cover this in order to expand children’s range of vocabulary.
