This Year 4 Christmas Dinner Maths interactive activity requires children to add a number of different prices together to find the cost of making a Christmas dinner for eight people. Includes addition of amounts of money with pounds and pence where prices may need to be multiplied in order to serve the number of people at the dinner. Children also need to round the total cost to the nearest pound.
National Curriculum objectives:
(4C2) Add and subtract numbers with up to 4 digits using the formal written methods of columnar addition and subtraction where appropriate
(4C6a) Recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12
(4N4b) Round any number to the nearest 10, 100 or 1,000
