Teacher Specific Information

This Subtracting Money Game checks pupils’ understanding of subtracting money using different methods, including physically removing coins and representing subtractions on a number line. Pupils will calculate the sale price of three items in a toy shop, identify which methods of subtraction could be used to find out how much money a person has left, explore which subtraction has been shown on an incomplete number line, physically remove six coins from a given amount and label the amount of money that is left and fill in the blanks to show how much more money a person needs.
