Year 3 Introducing and Recognising the Present Perfect Form in Sentences

Teacher Specific Information

This Year 3 Introducing and Recognising the Present Perfect Form in Sentences activity checks pupils’ understanding of using the present tense form of ‘to have’ and a past participle form of a verb. Children will identify sentences written in the perfect present tense; add ‘has’ or ‘have’ to a sentence to turn it into the present perfect tense; select the correct form of the verb ‘to have’ and another verb to make a sentence in the present perfect; identify the words in a sentence that tells you that it’s in the present perfect tense and identify from a list of sentences which have been written in the present perfect tense.
This activity is linked to the Classroom Secrets Year 3 GPS scheme of work.
Questions in this activity are based on the content in Spring Block 4 Step 1 and the additional step on the Classroom Secrets website, where you can find more resources.
