This Find One More and One Less Reasoning activity checks pupils’ understanding of counting forwards and backwards to find 1 more and 1 less than a number. Pupils will drag and drop numbers to complete calculations and explain how they found the missing number; determine which statement is correct and why; identify it a statement is always true, sometimes true or never true; select if a statement is true or false, identifying the correct reason and spot a mistake from four given calculations, explaining why it is not correct.
