This Year 2 GPS Revision Set 2 checks pupils’ understanding of adding suffixes -ed, -ing and -er, their use of subordinating conjunctions, adding the prefix un-, adding commas and full stops, and identifying verbs.

Year 2: (2G3.4) Subordination (using when, if, that, or because)
Year 2: (2G5.5) Learning how to use both familiar and new punctuation correctly (see English appendix 2) including: commas for lists
Year 2: (2G3.2) Learn how to use expanded noun phrases to describe and specify [for example, the blue butterfly, plain flour, the man in the moon]
Year 1: (1G6.2) How the prefix un– changes the meaning of verbs and adjectives [negation, for example, unkind, or undoing: untie the boat]
Year 1: (1G6.3) Suffixes that can be added to verbs where no change is needed in the spelling of root words (e.g. helping, helped, helper)
