This Reception Recall One More Game will help children to identify the number that is one more than a given number. Encourage children to count the objects or instantly recognise the number of objects and say what is one more than that number. They then select the correct answer.

Development Matters

40 – 60 Months
(M-N25) Say the number that is one more than a given number.
(MN-26) Finds one more or one less from a group of up to five objects, then ten objects.

Early Learning Goal
(ELG11) Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract 2 single digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.
