Reception Matching Objects to Numbers Card Game

Teacher Specific Information

This Reception Matching Objects to Numbers Card Game will help children to develop one-one correspondence skills. Encourage children to find two cards that match to win a pair. Every time the game is opened, six representations and numerals will appear. Children can re-try the game with the same objects and numerals by using the ‘reset’ button at the end of the game. Children will need to re-open the game if they wish to play again with a different variety of representations and numerals.

40 – 60 Months
(MN-18) Counts objects to 10, and beginning to count beyond 10.
(MN-20) Selects the correct numeral to represent 1 to 5, then 1 to 10 objects.

Early Learning Goal
(ELG11) Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract 2 single digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.
