Teacher Specific Information

This Reception Halving game will help children apply their understanding of halving amounts in a different context. They could count out the first amount practically, to allow them to find half, or try and recall the halving facts. Additionally, there are spots shown down the side and children could use these to help them visualise the halfway point. They need to drag the number card to complete the game.

Early Learning Goal
(ELG11) Children count reliably with numbers from one to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.
