Teacher Specific Information

This reception finding one less game will help children to identify the number that is one less than a given number. Encourage children to look at the pictures and/or read the numeral and say what is one less than that number. They then type in the correct answer.

(MN-26) Finds one more or one less from a group of up to five objects, then ten objects.

Early Learning Goal
(ELG11) Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract 2 single digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.
