Reception Capacity Matching Game

Teacher Specific Information

This Reception Capacity Matching Game will help children learn the vocabulary related to capacity. Encourage children to look at the glasses of water and decide whether they are full, empty, nearly full and so on. To answer the questions they need to drag the glasses from the left to match the labels on the right. You could provide practical opportunities to explore capacity in your setting using liquid, dried peas, lentils, pasta, etc.

Early Learning Goal
(ELG12) Children use everyday language to talk about size, weight, capacity, position, distance, time and money to compare quantities and objects and to solve problems. They recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes and use mathematical language to describe them.
