Teacher Specific Information

This Phonics Phase 3 Rhyming Game will help children learn more about words that rhyme. Words have been selected which children may be able to spell phonetically and you may wish to ask your children to record a rhyming string. Children need to drag the pictures into the box to complete the set. It may be helpful if, at the end of each slide, children stated all the words in the rhyming set in order to reinforce the part of the word that sounds the same.

This game features the following rhyming sets:
jet, vet, net and wet.
hop, top, mop and shop.
jog, dog, frog and log.
dip, chip, ship and lip.
wing, sing, ring and king.

Early Learning Goal
(ELG9) Children read and understand simple sentences. They use phonic knowledge to decode regular words and read them aloud accurately. They also read some common irregular words. They demonstrate understanding when talking with others about what they have read.
