This Year 4 Suffixes –ous and –ly Game checks pupils’ understanding of applying spelling rules when using the suffixes –ous and –ly. Pupils will sort the root words into a table, complete sentences using the appropriate ‘-ly’ and ‘-ous’ words, correct the words used within different sentences, select the root words that can be changed using the ‘-ous’ suffix, and identify whether a statement about the use of the two suffixes is correct.
