This Year 6 Multiply 4 Digits by 2 Digits Maths Challenge aims to develop pupils’ ability to accurately mutliply 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers and consolidate their ability to use column multiplication. Pupils will sort the calculations into those that will result in a number between 250,000 and 260,000 and those that won’t. This problem solving activity supports deeper understanding of the objective.
