Recognising 2D Shapes Video Tutorial

Teacher Specific Information

In this Recognising 2D Shapes Video Tutorial, Katie recaps the properties of circles, rectangles, squares and triangles before showing pupils how to recognise them on 3D household objects. Katie uses paint printing to show each of the 2D shapes and helps pupils to identify the shape from its properties. The language used includes curve, straight, equal, short, long and side.

This video will be useful for children to watch at home or for extra support as part of an intervention, or whole class activity.
